Kane will be star of Bentley's British bid
Steven Kane will begin this year's Blancpain European Endurance Championship at Monza this weekend buoyed by news of his selection to head Bentley's challenge in the British GT series.
Kane, originally from Ballynahinch and a former McLaren/Autosport Young Driver of the Year, had already been announced as one of the new 'Bentley Boys' as the famous British manufacturer returns to endurance racing with their GT3 Continental.
Now he has been chosen to partner Emirati Humaid al-Masaood in the British championship, which begins at Oulton Park over Easter weekend. They have previously raced together in top American sportscar events including Daytona and Sebring.
The Oulton Park race will also see multi Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy swap two wheels for four when he makes his debut for the Nissan Academy team, a prelude to a planned appearance at Le Mans in 2016.
But first Kane will be in action this weekend as Bentley field two cars in the Blancpain GT championship. He partners two other British drivers, Guy Smith and Andy Merrick, in the six-hour race at the Monza grand prix circuit where he drove for Nissan last year.
