Kris Meeke will have a new Peugeot team-mate starting with the next round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in the Canary Islands.
Rising Belgian star Thierry Neuville his signed with Meeke’s Kronos Racing team to contest six rounds of the series including Sardinia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Italy and Scotland.
The 21-year-old, who was chosen to drive for the BF Goodrich team on the Belgian round last year, will initially use the car driven by Meeke in Brazil and Argentina, with the IRC champion from Dungannon switching back to the Peugeot 207 he drove on the Monte Carlo Rally.
Neuville’s move to the IRC will be encouraging news for another Ulster driver, Martin McCormack.
He was beaten into second place by Neuville in the opening round of the French Citroen C2R2 Cup, the Rally Le Touquet, just over a week ago but now the Belgian is unlikely to appear in the series again.
Rally Islas Canarias will feature a strong entry when it runs for a 34th time from April 29 to May 1.
