Turkington's BTCC hat-trick bid gets a boost from BMW
Colin Turkington's new BMW 125i M Sport for this season's British Touring Car Championship has been unveiled along with the announcement his West Surrey Racing team will have full BMW factory backing.
Turkington has only just re-joined the WSR team with which he won the BTCC title in 2009 and 2015 and his return coincides with BMW's first official appearance in the series since 1996.
The Portadown driver joins another former champion Andrew Jordan and Rob Collard in a West Surrey line-up which will be known as Team BMW.
"It's been 21 years since there was a factory BMW team in the championship and it comes as no surprise that WSR have been chosen to carry the torch," said Turkington.
"Seeing the whole package come together is very exciting and the new BMW engine should enhance the car's performance and showcase the engineering excellence of WSR."
The new BTCC season begins at Brands Hatch on April 1/2.
