I relish working with Brookes at the TT: Farquhar

By Roy Harris

Former British Superbike champion Josh Brookes will race a Ryan Farquhar-prepared IEG/KMR Kawasaki in the Lightweight TT on June 7.

The Australian, who rides the Norton in the Superbike and Senior TT races, last raced there in 2014, and won the BSB series in 2015 before having a difficult season in WSB.

He has returned to the British series with Tag Anvil Yamaha in 2017 and with no manufacturer ties, can ride any make at the TT.

Brookes will ride the Farquhar machine that Michael Rutter took to first and second at the North West 200, as Rutter rides a Paton in this particular race.

Farquhar said: "Having a rider with Josh's pedigree is a terrific coup for KMR and I'm looking forward to working with him."

Meanwhile, with no BSB this week, Carl Phillips has the chance to repeat his Mondello Park success at Bishopscourt in the fourth round of the Irish Superbike short circuit series.
