Michael battles island weather at 127mph

By Roy Harris

Speed rivals Ian Hutchinson and Michael Dunlop again set the pace at near 130mph at another curtailed Isle of Man TT practice last night.

Continuing poor weather conditions which have dogged this year's event meant riders were able to complete just one full lap of the TT circuit.

In the limited session, Yorkshire rider Hutchinson - on his Ulster-owned Tyco BMW - edged out the Bennetts Suzuki of Ballymoney hero Dunlop, 128.98mph to 127.23mph in the Superbikes.

Flying Kiwi Bruce Anstey completed his first lap of the week on the Honda RC211V, lapping at 124.14mph, with Conor Cummins and Gary Johnson also above the 124mph mark.

Screen idol Guy Martin, seeking his first TT win, posted a lap of 121.42mph.

Fermanagh's Lee Johnston was the quickest 600 rider on the padgettsmotorcycles.com bike, with a speed of 122.16mph.
