Crockard and Simpson get off to a flying start

Ulster-Based riders Gordon Crockard and Shaun Simpson got off to winning
starts when the British Moto Cross Championship began at Canada Heights
yesterday.
Crockard won the first MX1 race and then finished fifth in the second heat
so at the end of the day he was in second place overall behind the leader
Ken De Dyker.
De Dyker won the second race after having finished third in the opener.
Billy McKenzie was second in the first race and finished fourth in the
second.
In the MX2 section Simpson, who is a Scot based with the Co Down Wulfsport
team run by Roger Magee from Crossgar, is in second place only one point
behind the leader Gareth Swonpole.
Simpson followed his opening win with a fifth place in the second place.
Martin Barr from Ballyclare was third in the opening race and eighth in the
second.
