The hectic Irish road-racing scene continues tomorrow with the Aon bikecare Skerries 100 meeting just north of Dublin where a renewal of the season-long battles between Ryan Farquhar, Scotsman Keith Amor and the Dunlop boys William and Michael are set to entertain the huge crowd who normally line the 2.9mile circuit.

Throw in John Burrows, Adrian Archibald, Andrew Neill, Stephen McKnight, debutant Michael Pearson and local aces Michael Sweeney, Derek Brien and Michael Weldon and that should ensure the action is fast and furious in the 10- race programme.

Farquhar is, of course, on the crest of a wave at present after claiming a treble at Athea last weekend and currently leads the supertwins, supersport and open Irish road race championships - something he will look to consolidate tomorrow.

The Dungannon man will also be looking to add to his 101 Irish road race wins, which puts him third in the all-time wins list behind Joey (119) and Robert Dunlop (111).

However Michael Dunlop who is second in the supersport standings and third in the open series at present, will be determined to claw back Farquhar’s advantage in these classes, as he rides in his sponsors back yard, Gary Ryan’s Street Sweep business being from the Skerries area.

Amor, meanwhile, lies second in the open class, winning the only two championship races he has completed in to date, beating Farquhar on both occasions, while in the supersport class he is third behind Farquhar and Dunlop, Farquhar having taken two wins and Amor and Dunlop one each.

In the two-stroke classes Dunlop comfortably leads the way in both the 125 and 250GP classes riding the Marlow and Around a Pound Honda’s where his main rival tomorrow should be brother William on Paddy Flynn’s Honda’s.

Farquhar said: “It has been a terrific season for me on the Irish roads so far this season and last weekend I had three wins, a second place and set the outright lap record at Athea where I also went over the 100 wins mark, something you don’t set out to do, but now I’ve done it, obviously I want to keep winning.

“The racing should be really close tomorrow and I hope to come out on top again.”

Michael Dunlop said: “I’m leading two championships and in contention in another two, so we’ll just keep the head down tomorrow and see where we end up at the end of the day.

“There is a lot of tough competition out there with Farquhar, Amor and William the obvious men to beat.”

An added bonus for spectators will see former world champion Jim Redman and Eugene Laverty, currently lying in second position in the world supersport championship, take to the track in a series of demonstration laps.

Roads close at 9.30am with the open championship race first on the card and scheduled for 10am.
