Mullen takes silver

Ireland's Ryan Mullen has won a silver medal in the under-23 men's individual time trial on the second day of the Road Cycling World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain.

The 20-year-old finished less than half a second behind the winner, Australia's Campbell Flakemore, over the 36.15km distance.

Mullen, who beat bronze medallist Stefan Kueng, will bid for a second medal in the under-23 road race on Friday.
