Murphy inspires Glenswilly

Michael Murphy completed the perfect weekend by inspiring Glenswilly to the Donegal SFC title, just hours after leading Ireland to victory over Australia in the International Rules first Test.

Murphy hit a 1-5 tally as Glenswilly saw off Killybegas by 3-19 to 2-6, coming from behind after Christopher Murrin and Hugh McFadden bagged early goals.

Murphy netted a penalty to help his side to a 1-7 to 2-3 interval lead, and they dominated the second half, adding further goals through Neil Gallagher and Ciaran Bonner.

Summerhill won their seventh Meath SFC title with a 1-13 to 1-10 win over Na Fianna.

David Larkin scored the decisive goal, with Dalton McDonagh pulling back a goal for Na Fianna.

Kilcoo grabbed three stoppage time points to retain their Down SFC title with a 0-9 to 0-7 win over Burren.

Darragh O'Hanlon brought them level with a long range free, before Paul Devlin hit two points to give his side a second successive championship crown.
