NI's Lee Johnston injured in Isle of Man TT practice crash

Lee Johnston, from Fermanagh, has been taken to hospital by helicopter after crashing during a practice lap at the Isle of Man TT.

Johnston crashed at Greeba Castle during a practice lap and was brought to hospital by an AirMed helicopter on Saturday.

The 28-year-old was reported to be conscious and is being treated at Nobles Hospital.

Organisers said he suffered minor "facial and back injuries".

In the previous lap, he had edged out James Hiller, reaching a speed of more than 128mph on the Padgett's 600cc Honda.

Johnston had also topped the Supersport qualifying for the morning at 123.369mph in a session which had seen the newcomers Paul Jordan, Adam McLean and Joey Thompson all over 117mph.
