Byrne finishes Olympic marathon 66th

Linda Byrne was the highest-placed Irish woman in the London Olympic marathon as she came home in 66th place.
Byrne clocked two hours 37.13 minutes in the rain on the looped course around central London.
Ava Hutchinson was just four seconds and two places behind, with Caitriona Jennings the last of the 107 finishers in 3hrs 22.11mins.
Derek Burnett was 24th in qualifying for the men's trap competition at the shooting range. In the first round his 24 targets out of 25 saw him finish well following a single miss on the 19th target.
The second round was dogged by heavy rain but he still managed an intermediate score of 47 out of 50. In the final session of the day he managed 23 to post a total of 70.
At Weymouth Bay, Peter O'Leary and David Burrows came in 10th overall on the last day of the Star Class competition.
Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern placed seventh and 13th in races 12 and 13 of the 49er class to lie 10th overall with three races including the medal race to come.
At Greenwich Park, Billy Twomey bowed out of the showjumping competition but Cian O'Connor advances to the last 35.
