Great Britain mark half century in style

Great Britain marked bastketball coach Tom Maher's 50th game with a confidence-building 74-67 win over France, the team ranked eighth in the world.

Britain’s women showed tremendous fight as they bounced back from Saturday's loss to Australia, rallying from 10 points down in the second quarter.

“Two years ago, nobody in the basketball world would have said there was a snowflake in hell's chance of that happening, so it's been amazing,” said Maher, who was delighted with the improvement.

Jo Leedham scored 23 points and Natalie Stafford bagged 18, while Julie Page added nine.
