It wouldn't happen in America and it's actually surprising that it happened here considering the NBA's popularity in China, but LA Laker megastar Kobe Bryant nearly got thrown out of the Wukesong basketball arena.
He wasn't actually playing at the time but trying to watch the American women playing Spain.
An unfortunate security guard (who's probably now paying the price) didn't recognise the 6'6" superstar, thought he should have had a match ticket and apparently shouted "Hey, get this big guy out of here!"
A lot of bowing and grovelling followed when Bryant's identity was confirmed. Even so, like all the spectators, Kobe still had to subject himself to the indignity of being frisked and scanned before entering the arena. Welcome to our world, Kobe!

QUOTE OF THE DAY
"One year ago we needed one or two eyes to play against China. Now you need three." -- Italian women's water polo coach Mauro Maugeri. Let's not even think about where she's suggesting it should be located.
DON'T MISS THIS TODAY (Wed).
'The Hess' may not be there but unless he forgets to tie both of his laces this time Usain Bolt will do an Olympic sprint double today (200m final, 3.20pm) -- a feat last achieved by Carl Lewis 24 years ago.
