At the fourth time of asking this year’s Ulster Bank Schools Cup final was completed and after falling at the penultimate hurdle in the last two years to RBAI, the North West school won when it mattered.

Nick Donnell broke the opening stand and followed up with three more wickets and Mark Porter, who ended Dhareula’s resistance immediately after the opener had brought up his 50, finished with three wickets. GraemeMcCarter, who added 109 for the fourth Foyle wicket in just 10.3 overs, was the game’s top scorer with an unbeaten 67, including seven fours and two sixes, and he finished the match by bowling Callum Atkinson to bring the Schools Cup to Londonderry for the first time since 2003.
