Gasquet facing ban over drugs
Tuesday, 10 November 2009
Richard Gasquet may have thought his troubles were over when an independent drugs tribunal freed him to play again after he had served a ban of only two and a half months following a positive test for cocaine earlier this year.
But today the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne will be asked to ban him for up to two years.
The case has been brought by the World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Tennis Federation. Gasquet will have to convince three judges in sport's highest court he had been “contaminated”, claiming the drug entered his body through kissing.
