Alan Campbell is left with a silver lining

Published 08/07/2013

Coleraine's Alan Campbell had to settle for a silver medal in the Diamond Single Sculls at the Henley Royal Regatta.

Campbell, who was using the event as a warm-up for the World Cup regatta in Switzerland this weekend, defeated American Jon Graves in Saturday's semi-final.

In the decider, he finished two lengths behind Alex- sandr Aleksandrov of Azerbaijan.

Brothers Richard and Peter Chambers were competing in the double sculls at Henley, but they didn't make it as far as the final.

They lost their semi-final on Saturday to fellow Britons Bill Lucas and Matt Langridge by three-and-a-half lengths.
