Darts: Waddell takes a rare step onto the oche

The best-known voice in darts will be the star on the stage for a change tomorrow night.

Sid Waddell will be appearing at the Black Box in Belfast where he will be in conversation with BBC NI's Joe Lindsay.

The Geordie commentator is currently promoting his new book 'Bellies and Bullseyes', and will talk about life on and off the oche.

His arrival comes with the sport on the up and the steady queue at the Odyssey yesterday as tickets went on sale for the Premier League date next April certainly is proof of that.

New rising star James Wade, who has won the last two major titles - the World Matchplay and the World Masters - is one of six players already confirmed.

Joining him will be world champion Raymond van Barneveld, reigning Premier League champion Phil Taylor, Terry Jenkins, Peter Manley and Adrian Lewis.

Tickets for the Premier League on April 24 are available on 028 90 739074, while for the visit of Waddell tickets cost £7 and are available from Blackbox or Belfast Welcome Centre on 028 90 246609. Doors open 8.00pm.
