Three unbeaten runners chase the £5,000 winner's prize in tonight's Tennent's Gold Cup at Drumbo Park

Kennel mates Farloe Rumble and Blue Cafu, handled by Donaghdee's Curtis McGrath, have their Scottish owner Peter Aiken flying in for the occasion but he's likely to depart disappointed as Toolmaker Scot carries the favourite's mantle.

And deservedly so after two smooth displays from Scot which saw him as the third fastest greyhound to grace the stadium when clocking 28.25 in the opening round. The blue dog followed that up with a 28.52 triumph in holding off Belfast runner Tiernans Gift who is given a chance to reverse that form.

Trained in Co Meath by Robert Gleeson, Toolmaker has won 16 of his 38 races and was runner-up in the Dundalk's Irish Sprint Cup and is set to add to his tally of victories. It won't be easy from trap four, but Scot has the early acceleration and middle distance pace, to overcome all challenges.

Darfin Angel is the only bitch in the final and is renowned for a quick exit which must give Crossgar's Finbarr and Daryl McLaughlin confidence of landing the top prize. Alas, she struggles in the closing stages and it's doubtful if she can hold off one as brilliant as Scot.

Farloe can't afford any mistake in exiting from trap one while Cafu, a finalist last year, will need his best ever show to snatch the spoils. A very capable sort, Cafu has been showing a better attitude but is another who must lead to be seen at his best and that's not guaranteed.

Tommy Light's Belfast runner Tiernans Gift won't be figuring early and his best work will come late in the game but giving quality dogs a lead is not easily surmountable and he'll do well to get into the frame.

Three semi-finals of the Jackie McCann Memorial worth £1,500 to the winner, are down for decision and Deanridge Casba, the fastest first round winner, can add to that for southern trainer Ian Reilly. Locals Dogsandfools and Cabriol Madison are the choices in the other two heats.
