Foster aiming to land British crown

By Frank Brownlow

Tiler Davy Foster will down tools and step up to fight for the WKN British Amateur Welterweight title against Scotland's Martin Young at the big KICKmas event at the Ulster Hall on December 14.

Foster plans to give his family, friends and supporters from ProKick Gym in Belfast a real knock-out display of festive fury in a contest scheduled for four two-minute rounds of K1 style with oriental rules.

The father of five girls, who is used to having his hands full, aims to get speedy combinations bang on target to secure British title success.

Also on the card is Samantha Robb who will be competing for the vacant WKN European welterweight title.

Samantha, from Tyrella, is the undefeated champion of Prokick Gym but has experienced setbacks before she even steps into the ring.

Melissa Van Hulse of Belgium had been the scheduled opponent but is now unavailable.

Instead, Samantha will be taking on Emilia Czerwinska, a World silver medal winner from Wroclaw in Poland.

Emilia has over 30 fights under her belt and is the current Polish champion.

But Samantha is worth her weight in gold which she proved when recently bringing home three gold medals from the World Martial Arts Games in Geneva.

It promises to be a superb contest for the European crown between two top-class operators.

You can see Davy, Samantha and the rest of Team ProKick fight by purchasing one of the few tickets remaining from the ProKick Gym, Belfast on 028 9065 1074 or from the Waterfront box office on 028 9033 4455.
