Northern Ireland 400 metres silver medallist Karl Griffin was third in the 800 metres ‘A’ race at the BMC meeting in Watford.

Griffin clocked 1.49.38, just ahead of Ferrybank’s Niall Tuohy (1.49.39).

Finn Valley’s Mark Hoy took third in the ‘C’ race in 1.51.42. Lisburn’s Jake Harbinson was timed at 1.55.93.

Andrew Wright recorded 3.52.03 in his 1,500 metres race while Ballymena’s Steven Morrow finished in 3.54.39.

There was a PB for East Down’s Neill McCartan when he finished sixth in 3.54.84.

Titanic 10k winner Anne Marie McGlynn ran a season’s best of 16.19.06 in the 5,000 metres while Finn Valley’s Teresa Doherty recorded 16.33.47. Banbridge’s Emma Mitchell ran 17.00.41.

Meanwhile, Alberto Salazar was never in any doubt that Mo Farah would stick by him despite doping allegations against the coach.

“There was never any doubt in my mind he was going to stay,” he said.

Farah said on Friday: “I feel I have to believe in Alberto and the evidence he has provided.”
