Jason in a rush to Belfast Giants

Published 14/01/2009

Steve Thornton last night added strength to the Belfast Giants quadruple bid.

With four trophies still up for grabs, the player-coach has brought a fresh dimension to the team in the shape of much travelled 34-year-old winger Jason Rushton.

And although he netted 17 goals in just 13 games for the Bracknell Bees two seasons ago, it is not only his firepower that the Giants have signed him for.

“I’m not going to lie, this guy has been brought in to add toughness to our team and to drop the gloves with the other tough guys around the league,” said Giants general manager Todd Kelman.
