St Mark's have regained the IIBA Club Championship - sponsored by the Galway Bay Hotel - at the Watson Stadium.

The Portadown side got their hands on the trophy for only the second time following a comprehensive win over Loughenreagh in the final.

Captain Andrew Leckey said: "It was a great team performance. Having been the only side in the last four to have previously won the tournament, we had the pressure of being title favourites.

"But everyone played their part and we were determined not to let it slip away."

St Mark's produced an excellent performance to defeat St Anthony's 22-16 in the semi-final. In the other, Loughenreagh roared past Sydenham (30-11).

But there was just no stopping St Mark's in the final. Leckey and Jal Richardson turned in powerful performances to beat Alistair Steele (11-2) and Ian Ross (11-2), while Paul Beattie enjoyed an 11-7 success against Alan Irwin.
