Ladies hockey: Cookstown sizzle in second round win

Cookstown High soared into the second round of the Bank of Ireland/Belfast Telegraph School's Cup on Saturday with an emphatic 14-0 victory over Royal and Prior.

It was a sister act for Cookstown as twins Emma (2) and Sarah Campbell both got on the scoresheet as well as their big sister and captain Rachel, who also got two goals.

Louise Donaghy was in unstoppable form firing five past the Royal and Prior keeper, while Rebecca Sloan, Gail Brown (2) and Megan Sloan also got in on the act.

Meanwhile, Carrick Grammar School walked away comfortable winners after beating Belfast High School 5-0.

Sarah Galbrith was on target twice and the other scorers were Claire Mulligan, Carly Beggs and Danielle Wilson.

In the other first round matches Banbridge Academy put six goals past Down High without reply and holders Royal School Armagh defeated Regent House 7-1.
