Murray in mood to keep Queen’s crown
Andy Murray is hoping to kick-start his season with a successful defence of the AEGON Championship title he won at Queen's last year.
The Scot will face Ivan Navarro of Spain in the second round of the AEGON-sponsored event which got under way yesterday.
Murray had a bye in the opening round but Navarro defeated Austrian Daniel Koellerer in his first round match.
“I'll just go back there and try to win again this year and give it my best shot,” said Murray.
Two British players, Jamie Baker and Jamie Ward found the going tough. Robby Ginepri overcame Ward 6-3 7-5. Denis Istomin defeated Baker 6-1 6-4 while Michael Llodra beat Andrey Golubev 6-3 6-2.
Elsewhere, Dudi Sela beat Chris Guccione 6-7 7-6 6-4 and Jesse Levine beat Ryan Harrison 6-3 6-3. Igor Kunitsyn beat Illya Marchenko 1-6 6-4 6-3 and Julien Benneteau defeated Arnaud Clement 6-2 6-4. France's Richard Gasquet beat Japan's Kei Nishikori 6-3 6-3.
