Norman Parke in a rage after 'joke' decision costs him victory
Northern Ireland's top MMA fighter Norman Parke was controversially defeated at UFC Fight Night 67 in Brazil by local favourite Francisco Trinaldo in a three round split decision.
Two of the Brazilian judges awarded Trinaldo a 29-28 victory with one opting for Parke. This is the second time in a row that the Bushmills man has had victory snatched away from him.
"I couldn't believe my ears when they announced the decision - the judges are a joke," said Parke.
"I won the first round and knew I needed to win the final round, which I clearly did too.
"I feel I have had my pocket picked in Brazil and not for the first time, but this won't stop me.
"I will be back to the grindstone and looking to prove without a doubt I am one of the best fighters in the world."
What makes this particularly frustrating is that despite a change of opponent, hostile surroundings and some surprisingly good striking from his opponent, Parke completely dominated the third - and in many people's eyes - deciding round.
