Pregnant pause won’t cost Radcliffe in Olympic marathon
Paula Radcliffe insists that becoming pregnant for a second time will not derail her attempts to win Olympic gold on home soil.
Radcliffe is taking time out from competing after announcing earlier this year that she is expecting her second child in September.
But she insists that taking time off means she will go into London with the best possible chance of realising her Olympic dream.
“I have not had the chance to go out there and do myself justice in an Olympic marathon yet,” said Radcliffe, who is married to Ulsterman, Gary Lough.
“I have not been able to get to a race injury free yet.
“Hopefully all this rest will help me have that chance now.”
