Friends in warm places as school girls hit the sunshine

Kitted out: Anna Martin, Kirsty Walker, Keely Mason and Shona McComb get their kit from David McComb

Friends’ Girls’ are looking forward to escaping the wind and rain as they head for Marbella in Spain this week for their long awaited hockey and netball tour.

A senior hockey squad will play three matches against Benalmadena HC in Marbella and the Eagles and Hawks in Gibraltar.

Meanwhile an Intermediate netball team will participate in a two day netball tournament in Gibraltar.

The girls have been fundraising for some time and are grateful to all businesses and individuals who have supported them during these tough financial times.

The girls adopted Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice as their charity and were able to raise a total of £3000 from all their bag packing ventures.

The school thanked David McComb of MOTIS Freight Ferry Services who sponsored hockey playing shirts and hoodies for all of the tour party and Onside Sportswear who designed the hoodies and supplied the training shirts.
