Mixed fortunes for the Peter and Sam Bothwell

Peter Bothwell is through to the second round of the International Tennis Federation event in Edinburgh but there was disappointment for brother Sam.

Peter, 17, was in fine form and he cruised to a 6-0 6-0 win over Great Britain's William Bissett.

But 15-year-old brother Sam went down to Great Britain's Marcus Walters, going down 6-2 6-2.

Peter, who is based in Spain at the Soto Academy, is hoping to book his place in the quarter-finals today.

Meanwhile, Karola Bejenaru will be bidding to make the quarter-finals of the singles event today when she clashes with British girl Abigail Amos. Her match will be screened on the web by Tennis Scotland.

Last night Bejenaru and British girl Georgia Lawson teamed up and won their first round doubles match, defeating Ruby Grant and Chloe Moxham of Britain, 6-2 6-2.

Fellow Ulster player Lucy Octave went out of the singles, losing to the seventh seed Ceire Mullins 7-6 6-2.
