Top two greyhounds set for big showdown

The two fastest dogs in the opening round of the £5,000 Caledonia Smooth Gold Cup clash in the second semi-final next Saturday night at Drumbo Park.

Bellmore Torres (28.43) and Graduation Day (28.45) had impressive heat victories and occupy traps three and four respectively at the next stage.

Graduation Day, a Northern Irish Derby semi-finalists at the end of September, is owned by brother and sister Aisling and Michael Quinn, whose father is former Republic of Ireland striker Niall Quinn.

First semi-final: 1: Movilla Flyer; 2: Kincraig Rory; 3: Work Me Lord; 4: Atitboy; 5: Canvas Drogba; 6: Hather Max

Second semi-final: 1: Big Johns Girl; 2: China Special;3: Bellmore Torres; 4: Graduation Day; 5: Captain Scolari; 6: Doc Martin.
