By Ali Gordon

Future sporting stars from Ballinamallard Primary School showed off their talents in an exciting sports day.

The County Fermanagh school welcomed sponsors Dale Farm, the Mary Peters' Trust and Podium4Sport after talented P7 pupil Katie Johnston won the Dale Farm Sports Design Competition.

Designing an impressive sports day themed banner for her school, Katie received a number of special prizes.

One of five winners, Katie's school won an equipment pack from Dale Farm and Podium4Sport worth over £500; a production of the winning banner; refreshments; medals and a follow-up visit from Irish international rower Leonora Kennedy – a recipient of the 2014 Dale Farm Athletes' Academy bursary.

Dale Farm's Commercial Director Jason Hempton said: "Through our Dale Farm Athletes' Academy we've supported five young, local athletes by helping them to achieve their goals of competing internationally.

"To supplement this initiative we are now assisting five local schools to celebrate the enjoyment of sport and we were delighted to work with Ballinamallard Primary School on its sports day."
