Aidan O'Brien targets autumn return for Minding

Aidan O'Brien remains hopeful brilliant filly Minding will return to competitive action as good as new before the end of the season.

The dual Classic heroine and seven-time Group One winner made a sparkling reappearance in the Mooresbridge Stakes at Naas at the start of the month and was due to line up in Sunday's Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh before suffering a setback.

She will not make Royal Ascot and looks set to miss most of the summer, but O'Brien expects to have her back on track for an autumn campaign.

He said: "She has to stand in her box for a month and then she can start driving. She should be back riding in six weeks or two months.

"That's what we're hoping and it should be all fine. John Halley and Ger Kelly and John's vets are looking after her in Ballydoyle.

"They come in and see her every day so hopefully it should go well."
