Bocca thriving for Guineas raid

Jessica Harrington has expressed her delight at the form of Bocca Baciata ahead of the filly's intended outing in the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh later this month.

After ending her first campaign with a maiden win at Navan, the three-year-old confirmed the promise she had shown on the track last year when triumphant in the Listed Salsabil Stakes over a mile and a quarter back at the County Meath venue in April.

That latest success has been significantly boosted by the subsequent performances of runner-up Pleascach and the third horse Diamondsandrubies.

The Group One contest on May 24 will represent a drop back in trip to a mile for Bocca Baciata, who also holds an entry in the Investec Oaks at Epsom.

Harrington said: "She's come out of her race at Navan very well.

"I'm very happy with her and she's on course for the Irish 1,000 Guineas."
