Classy entry for Haydock showpiece

Edward Lynam's top speedsters Slade Power and Sole Power are among 49 entries for the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock on September 6.

The pair are set to clash in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket on Saturday along with Due Diligence, Aljamaaheer and Music Master, who were second, third and fourth behind Slade Power in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Sole Power lifted the King's Stand Stakes at the Royal meeting and Hot Streak, who was third in the five-furlong dash, has been given an entry. Lynam has also put in his Group-winning filly Viztoria.

Gordon Lord Byron, impressive winner of the six-furlong showpiece in 2013 for Irish trainer Tom Hogan, could bid for a repeat.

Others in a classy entry include last year's Prix de l'Abbaye hero Maarek, Wokingham winner Baccarat and Frankel's half-sister Joyeuse.
