Stepping up in trip ought to suit John Gosden's Stars At Night in the 32Red Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield today. Owned by the Coolmore team, the regally-bred three-year-old has had two outings over a mile already, but this 10-furlong trip should be much more her cup of tea.

By Galileo, she is a half-sister to Godolphin's top-class Blue Bunting, who claimed the 1000 Guineas as well as the Irish and Yorkshire Oaks over a mile and a half.

Fourth in both of her races to date, Stars At Night does not look likely to live up to her breeding, but she should be able to win an ordinary maiden.

Only three go to post for the Bet&Watch Every Race At Unibet Conditions Stakes but it is an intriguing little contest.

The David Evans-trained Gracious John is rated 4lb inferior to William Haggas' Ornate and is forced to give that rival 3lb, but there are reasons to believe he can still get the better of him.

He won three of his last four races in the summer and looked on a steep upward curve with his sole defeat coming when behind Richard Fahey's Donjuan Triumphant, who ended up winning a French Group Two and is rated 115.

Gracious John looks the type to continue improving this year.

Khameela is a very interesting contender in the Download The New Unibet Racing App Maiden Auction Stakes.

She shaped with a deal of promise when third on her only start for Barry Hills last year with the second, Estidraak, franking the form when bolting up next time.

Sold for only 9,000 euros in November, she could be a bargain buy and looks sure to progress.

Westwood Hoe signed off 2015 with two good wins and can bring up the hat-trick in the Ladbrokes Handicap at Southwell.

Tony Caroll's five-year-old beat a decent sort in Felix Leiter at Doncaster on heavy ground before showing he is effective on the Fibresand when defeating Highland Colori most recently.

LINGFIELD: 1.00 Khameela, 1.30 Tempuran, 2.00 STARS AT NIGHT (NAP), 2.30 Gracious John, 3.00 Redalani, 3.30 Footlight.

SOUTHWELL: 12.40 Piccacard, 1.10 Ythan Waters, 1.40 Westwood Hoe, 2.10 Starving Faithful, 2.40 Ralphy Lad, 3.10 Play Nicely, 3.40 Puss Moth.

DOUBLE: Stars At Night and Gracious John.
