Don Cossack tuning up for Kempton and King George

Gordon Elliott will put the finishing touches to Don Cossack's William Hill King George VI Chase preparation on Tuesday.

The eight-year-old has won eight of his last nine races, with his only defeat in that time coming at Cheltenham in the Ryanair Chase.

He has been imperious in two starts this season and while his task may look slightly easier with Gold Cup winner Coneygree absent, Elliott is taking nothing for granted.

"He's in good form and will do his last bit of work on Tuesday," said Elliott.

"All being well the King George is the plan (rather than the Lexus).

"Coneygree might not be there, but with Vautour and Cue Card it is still a very good race and I'm looking forward to it."
