Ulster jockey Pat Cosgrave can ride Flying Hammer to victory in the Handicap at Kempton.

Cosgrave is in fine form having landed two big-race victories at York's Ebor Festival last week, Storm The Stars successful in the Great Voltigeur Stakes and Besharah in the Lowther Stakes.

Both those wins were for the William Haggas team, and while Flying Hammer is one of the stable's lesser lights, he looks the type who can make a bigger impact in due course.

Third on his only juvenile start in a Newmarket maiden at the end of last term, Flying Hammer did not return to action until the start of this month when winning at Chepstow under Cosgrave with the minimum of fuss.

The Acclamation colt was slowly away that day but stayed on strongly to assume control in the last of seven furlongs, eventually winning by a length and a half.

The opposition was nothing special but that means the handicapper could not be too harsh and a starting point of 79 looks highly workable on this step up to a mile.

Soluble can arrest a run of third-placed finishes with victory in the 32Red On The App Store Handicap.

The three-year-old's dam is a sister to Shirocco so more was expected of this Galileo colt who cost 400,000 guineas at Tattersalls in 2013.

He made a winning debut in February of this year but has since finished in the frame in each of his three starts, most notably when beaten just a quarter of a length by the well-regarded Dartmouth at Sandown in May.

Off a mark of 82, he looks open to improvement.

Sir Michael Stoute can enjoy a good afternoon at Catterick, with Musharrif and Plane Song holding fine chances.
