Godolphin purchase Pleascach

Godolphin have snapped up Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Pleascach and she will carry their colours when she runs in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot next week.

The Jim Bolger-trained filly won the 10-furlong Blue Wind Stakes at Naas before dropping back to a mile for a half-length Classic success over Found last month.

She is now due to step up to a mile and a half at Ascot and John Ferguson, bloodstock advisor to Sheikh Mohammed, is pleased to have recruited the daughter of Teofilo for Godolphin.

He told "Jim is keen for the filly to run at Royal Ascot, with the Irish Derby and the Irish Oaks both being targets in the future.

"His Highness Sheikh Mohammed believes when buying young Classic fillies, you look at them as a 10-year plan rather than just as a racehorse, and with the stallions that we now have at our disposal, the future is exciting."
