Hogan appeal likely
Denis Hogan is likely to appeal the 14-day ban and 1,000 euro fine he picked up at Limerick on Thursday evening.
Hogan is also the trainer of Norah Starr, who was banned from running for 60 days after finishing seventh, beaten just over five lengths, in the 'It's a Student's Life' Handicap. Following an inquiry, Hogan was found in breach of Rule 212 (a) and 212 (a) (i), which relate to achieving the best possible placing.
"I probably will appeal. She missed the break and was flat out the whole way. I'm not going to beat her up to finish sixth rather than seventh," said Hogan.
"The thing is now they don't want you using the stick too much and when you don't use it you get in trouble.
"I drove her out hands and heels and I didn't think hitting her would have got us any closer."
