Ryan Moore: long lay off

Top jockey Ryan Moore could be out for the remainder of the year as he recovers from a neck injury sustained in the Newmarket stalls.

It is believed the teams at Coolmore and at Sir Michael Stoute's Newmarket yard have accepted that their leading man will be missing until early 2016.

Moore's agent Tony Hind initially hinted at a matter of days after the incident a fortnight ago and then the jockey's father Gary indicated a month might be closer to the mark.

But Britain's three-time champion jockey, following a series of checks at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Raaqy can confirm the promise of her debut in the Irish Champions Weekend EBF Stallions Star Stakes at Sandown today.

Barry Hills' charge is by sire-of-the-moment Dubawi and out of a 1000 Guineas winner in Natagora, so hopes were always going to be high she could live up to the exploits of her parents.

Given her dam landed the Cheveley Park as a two-year-old, there was always a hope she could be fairly precocious, and the home-bred made a winning debut at Doncaster.
