Irish Guineas target for Baciata

Jessica Harrington has given Bocca Baciata the green light to contest the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on May 24.

The Big Bad Bob filly won her final start at two and handled the step up in class at the weekend when landing the Salsabil Stakes at Navan.

That was over 10 furlongs but Harrington feels she showed the requisite pace to handle the drop down to a mile.

"She's absolutely perfect, we took her out for a canter, she was so well in herself, and we're going to go for the Irish 1,000 Guineas with her," Harrington told At The Races.

"That means bringing her back two furlongs in trip but I think she showed enough speed the other day.

"We've lots of options and you'd imagine, being the size she is, that she will improve as the season goes on.

"She did well from two to three, I'm not sure if she grew but she filled her frame out and looks a lot stronger."
