Leopardstown's meeting on Monday has been cancelled as the track is covered in a foot of snow.

Officials had already rescheduled the opening day of the four-day Christmas Festival on Sunday to next Thursday, and with conditions showing no sign of improvement, Monday's fare has also fallen by the wayside.

Horse Racing Ireland have a contingency plan, with Monday's Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase and paddypowerpoker.com Future Champions Novice Hurdle now rescheduled for Wednesday. Racing is set to take place from Tuesday until Thursday.

The Turf Club will stage an inspection on Monday to reassess the situation.
