Listowel Fitz the bill for Winters

Rebel Fitz is reported in top trim after his return to action at the Galway Festival.

Mick Winters' popular 10-year-old made a pleasing comeback after a long absence when second to Cailin Annamh over fences.

He is now likely to be sent to Listowel, but for which race remains up in the air.

"He came out of his Galway race very well - surprisingly well," said Winters.

"He has the option of the easier option (Slan Abhaile) at Listowel but if the ground came up nice, he could run over three miles in the Kerry National.

"Mikey O'Connor rode him to win (the Slan Abhaile) last year and would ride him if he ran in the same race again."
