Mayfair Lady made quite an impression when running out a wide-margin winner on her last two starts and the switch up to Group Three company looks a logical step in the Country Gentlemen's Association Dick Poole Fillies Stakes tomorrow at Salisbury.

Richard Fahey's charge hit the frame on her first couple of outings before really springing to attention when cantering home by seven lengths on quick ground at Pontefract in July.

She had little trouble in seeing off Fast Enough who has since won himself, with the fourth, Emerald Bay, also subsequently hitting the target which gives the form a very solid look indeed.

Mayfair Lady was lining up on vastly different ground at York last time, though, but she showed a bit of cut makes little difference to her as she blasted out of the stalls and was never headed in a competitive nursery event.

Her five-length margin probably does not do her justice as there appeared to be plenty left in the tank so it is no surprise the handicapper has prematurely ended her career in the nursery ranks by awarding a rating of 104.

That mark makes her the joint-top-rated contender here and any drying of the ground would certainly help but is not necessary to aid her chance.

Gale Force, ridden by Freddy Tylicki, comfortably won the Royal Sussex Regiment Stakes yesterday at Goodwood.
