More glory at Limerick for Willie Mullins and Rich Ricci

Dicosimo was an emphatic winner of the feature Irish Independent Hurdle at Limerick for the top team of trainer Willie Mullins and owner Rich Ricci.

The French import, who was eighth in last season's Triumph Hurdle, overcame a 288-day absence to take these Listed honours in great style.

Sent off the 5-4 in the hands of Mullins' nephew Danny, Dicosimo set the pace and then drew clear from the second-last flight as he scored convincingly by 10 lengths from Theophilus.

"I was always confident and able to get a breather into him coming down the hill," said the winning jockey.

"I wanted to fill up the tank before going again and he was good.

"His form flattened out maybe last spring but hopefully this year he'll keep it going and there's no reason he won't."
