Mr Picotee looking for fine form to continue with trio of wins

By Thomas Kelly

Mr Picotee will be bidding to complete a hat-trick when he lines up in the Dermot Hughes Car Sales Handicap Hurdle at Roscommon.

The Vincent Halley-trained eight-year-old won on his seasonal debut at Kilbeggan last month, and followed up at Wexford 12 days later.

He has gone up 15lb for those two successes and is top weight here.

Caolaneoin, who won a decent contest over fences at Punchestown last month, will be looking to take advantage of his handicap mark over flights.

The 11-year-old is rated 20lb lower over hurdles than fences and a big run can be expected from the Shane Nolan-trained gelding.

Joseph O'Brien and Gordon Elliott are both double-handed, with Ruby Walsh booked to ride Walkabout for Elliott.

The consistent Charles Byrnes-trained Hareth is another worth mentioning. He is fitted with a tongue strap for the first time, and Davy Russell will do the steering.

Russell, who has been firing in the winners, will be aboard Dorans River in the roscommonracecourse.ie Rated Novice Hurdle.

A good winner on debut for Elliott at Downpatrick last month, the son of Golan has since gone down by just a length and a quarter to Is She Diesel at Ballinrobe.

Robin Des Foret, who has won his last three, is sure to prove popular with punters in this two-and-a-half-mile contest. Walsh will be aboard the gelding, who is the highest-rated runner in the line-up.
