Murphy plans Town Moor work

Ferdy Murphy is taking a team of eight Cheltenham Festival possibles to work after racing at Doncaster.

The North Yorkshire-based trainer has used this opportunity in the past and is keen to give all his entries at the big meeting the chance to rubberstamp their tickets to Prestbury Park the week after next.

Racegoers who stay on after the scheduled action at Town Moor will be able to see such stars as Kalahari King, who is a leading fancy for the Ryanair Chase, put through their paces.

"I'm taking eight to work after racing at Doncaster. They all seem well, but we like to get a racecourse gallop into them. Doncaster have been very good in putting this on every year," said Murphy.

"Everything we have entered at Cheltenham will be there. One or two might not go to the Festival, but we will see how they work first."
