November puzzle for punters

By Burnaby

Doncaster’s £2 Million totescoop6 November Handicap is always a tricky puzzle for punters to solve on the final day of the Flat season and this year’s renewal appears to be no exception.

Very few of the 23-strong field can be written off with confidence and the one to side with could be Irish raider Menwaal, who ran out an impressive winner on his latest outing at Naas.

Michael Murphy’s charge was winning that event for the second year in succession and he has shown on more than one occasion that he handles cut in the ground and gets this mile-and-a-half trip well. As that was only his second outing of the campaign, he comes into this race fresher than many of his rivals who have been on the go for the entire season, so that should also stand him in good stead.

The booking of Jamie Spencer can only be a plus in these big handicaps and Menwaal looks sure to make his presence felt.

Chief Editor gets the nod in the Listed Wentworth Stakes for Michael Jarvis.
