Obliterator primed for Ascot date

Obliterator is set to tackle a Listed event at Leopardstown on Thursday before a planned run at Royal Ascot.

The Oratorio colt showed up well in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket on his seasonal return back in April but disappointed when last in the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh last month.

The testing ground was against him on that occasion and trainer Ger Lyons is keen to get another run in before heading to next week's feature meeting.

"If the ground is right on Wednesday night, Obliterator will run in the Listed race at Leopardstown on Thursday (Glencairn Stakes) and then he will go to Royal Ascot as he is a stuffy horse."
