Paul Nolan is hoping Shinrock Paddy can put a slightly disappointing effort behind him in the Limestone Lad Hurdle at Naas on Saturday.
The County Wexford trainer is banking on a drop in trip from three miles to two miles three furlongs, as well as returning to a course where he has been successful already this season, bringing about a change in fortunes.
"The intention is to run on Saturday. He was still on the premises turning in last time, I just thought he would have finished out his race a little bit better," said Nolan.
"Maybe we can have a little bit of doubt over the three miles about him, but I was just a bit disappointed. He did run reasonably and I thought he was going as well as anything apart from Mourad (winner).
"We are dropping him back in trip and he's won around Naas before. We'll see how he gets on, but it's a good-looking race and he's carrying a Grade One penalty.
"That's a fair handicap when he's taking on some other horses we are already wrong with in the ratings. Having to carry more weight with the penalty is another burden.
"He did come out of his last race well so we've no worries that way and hopefully the drop back in trip will help him."
