Realt the real deal

Realt Mor ran out a hugely impressive winner of the Follow Navan On Facebook Beginners Chase.

Allowed to dictate terms on the 11-4 chance, Davy Condon built up an enormous lead on the back straight and never looked back.

A slightly skewed jump at the second-last may have given his supporters some palpitations, but Gordon Elliott's runner was never really troubled and he went on to beat Shinrock Paddy by 25 lengths.

Condon said: "He's got a fair engine. He's free going and I decided to let him bowl along. The last day he just didn't see the first fence but he jumped super today bar the second last.

"If he learned to relax he'd be all the better."

Elliott made it a quick double when Barneys Honour landed the Dunsany Handicap Chase under Paul Carberry.

Mad Brian atoned for a last-flight blunder at Fairyhouse when opening his account in fine style in the Nobber Maiden Hurdle, coming home a massive 34 lengths clear of Champagne Agent.

"He's a decent horse and we always thought he was," said Callaghan afterwards.

"I'm not sure where we'll go now but it's great to get a win. We'll maybe have a look at something at Fairyhouse or Punchestown."
